NOVEMBER COME N TRY EVENT
As the headline suggests the 2nd Come n Try event which was run at West Lakes on Sunday was a sell out! We had 20 new paddlers out on the water under the watchful eye of Peter Carter, Megan Holmes and Bernard and Siobhan Goble; backed up by a team of ACC volunteers.
Half of the new paddlers have come from a new joint initiative between ACC and the Adelaide Bush Walkers Club (ABW), the other half from the various Meet Up Groups we are starting to make contact with.
We received a lovely thank you via email which sums up how the day went:
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all your instructors and volunteers at the ACC come and try day yesterday.
It was very well organised and run, and great fun! I was in Siobhan and Megan’s group and they were very good instructors – very informative, approachable and patient. And thanks to the volunteers too – Rob and Mark.
Well done to all those who took part, the new paddlers will be contacted with an invite to come to our Thurs evening skills session at West Lakes and hopefully a few will become regular paddlers with ACC. to see some photos (thanks Mark Loram) click the link (let us know if the link doesn’t work, sometimes plays up for people that don’t have a Gmail/Google account):
